If you’ve been following along with our Kerala itinerary, you know we’ve seen some incredible landscapes so far. But rolling into Varkala feels like stepping onto a completely different planet.Unlike the flat, palm-fringed beaches you usually picture when you think of southern India, Varkala is famous for its massive, striking red cliffs that drop straight down into the roaring Arabian Sea. (Geologists actually call this the “Varkala Formation,” but to us, it just looked like a postcard).
